Children should be taught about the importance of money so that they will not take it for granted especially with current economic situation.
Here’s a way you can teach your children:
Prepare 3 envelopes by labelling each of them as “Share”, “Save”, and “Spend”.
Then when you give your child money for their weekly or daily expenses or even ang paos they get during Chinese New Year, encourage them to split the money into the 3 envelopes.
Each envelope can have a certain percentage of money that they should keep from the money they got. It is up to you or ask your child how much they want to keep in each.
With the envelope, they will know which money they should be shared, spent, or saved.

Many people have this habit of not keeping their card transaction receipt, they just threw it away without destroying it fully. This should not be done so as you will be putting your account in jeapordy.
If you read the news lately, I’m sure you might come across a case about some syndicate selling fake credit cards. The syndicate collected the transaction receipt sand also those unwanted expired credit cards. They made a new card out of it and sell the fake card overseas.
Don’t even think that the last 4 digits are censored will not cause people to find out the full number, they still can. They are very smart in doing so.
Next time, be sure to keep your transaction receipts securely or destroy it completely or it will fall into the wrong hands. You might be the next credit card fraud victim.

Those of you that use credit card a lot, do you notice sometimes when you pay, you need to pay extra few Ringgit or few cents?
Can you believe it that you missed out paying RM0.19 yet you got charge RM52.17 of interest?
Only RM0.19 yet they charge an interest of RM52.17, that is a huge percentage, 27457%!!!
I’ve notice this problem from many friends lately. They are not happy with how the bank charges them.
For example, the minimum payment is RM200.19, when they go to the bank cash deposit machine to pay but the machine only accept RM10, Rm50, or RM100, it doesn’t accept cents. So many will just pay RM200 and omit the RM0.19.
Don’t blame the bank for it. Your minimum payment is RM200.19, not RM200, therefore you might as well pay RM210. If not, then use other way of payment such as cheque. Since you do not fulfill the minimum payment requirement, it is not wrong for them to charge u such interest.
Here’s the part where you should take note of from the bank’s terms and consitions:
Cardholder may elect to pay less than the Current Balance provided that the Cardholder makes the minimum payment specified in the Card Statement, which shall be either 5% of the Current Balance and the unpaid minimum payment specified in the preceding month Card Statement or RM50.00 whichever is the greater.
If the Cardholder fails to pay the Minimum Payment Due by the Due Date, a further charge of 1% of that outstanding balance of Card Transactions (subject to a minimum of RM10 and a maximum of RM100) will be specified in the following month’s Statement. The sum so specified shall until paid bear the Finance Charge, and the provisions of the preceding paragraph in relation to the capitalisation of the Finance Charge shall equally apply.
This is your problem, not the bank problem. Let this be a lesson to you.
